The Project 

This assignment was to create a partial interchange and toll station on the A40 motorway towards Geneva.
Construction work:

  • Creation of an entrance and an exit road with a 700 m acceleration/deceleration lane,
  • Creation of a flyover on the A40,
  • Bracing of the stone covering on the adjacent structure,
  • Creation of a closed tolling system, including:
    • 2×2 lanes (plus 2×1 reservation),
    • A lodge in the central reservatio,
    • A service building,
    • An awning.

Challenge
The project involved closing the motorway for one night only to position the pre-assembled and pre-installed structure, using a Kamag platform trailer.

The Assignment

  • Lead company for the consortium in charge of design, engineering, construction management and coordination.
  • Design and works supervision:
    • Geometry (horizontal and vertical alignments and levelling),
    • Geotechnology,
    • Sanitation,
    • Earthworks,
    • Roads,
    • Security and signaling equipment,
    • Civil engineering for the toll station surfacing and booths,
    • Roads and utilities,
    • Environmental impacts and related measures,
    • Works scheduling.
