Linking the new A432 section north of the existing A42/A432 interchange led to a major redevelopment and extension of the Boisse toll barrier from 7 to 17 lanes, and the creation of 3 toll stations on the ramps. In adding a toll station for the Mionnay partial interchange, more than 2,500 m2 of metallic awnings were created, including more than 1,500 m2 over the barrier.
The architecture of the barrier extension aimed to provide continuity with the existing canopy, which in the end, needed to be entirely replaced. Its V-shaped metallic structure, lined on the underside with translucent polycarbonate panels, was made up of gantries at every other booth. The canopy was topped with a 110 m footbridge over the road, providing access to the pay booths.
