The project involved converting a 6 km stretch of hard shoulder into a shared-access lane for public transport to ease congestion on the A48 motorway. This involved:
- widening the hard shoulder at the Saint-Egrève exit: sanitation, carriageway and security equipment,
- introducing horizontal and vertical signaling equipment, including changes to the adjacent road and motorway networks,
- creating a multipoint unit to link the equipment,
- setting up operating equipment (road signs, cameras, traffic lights, special signs, etc.),
- upgrading the roadside operations, safety and assistance control center to integrate the shared-access lane.
